Building a Legacy of Excellence in Landscaping for Over 40 Years

In a recent feature from NALP's Level Up series, Pleasant Places, Inc. shares its journey of hard work, growth, and dedication under the leadership of founder Guy Artigues.

Starting the company in 1984 with a passion for landscaping, Artigues has grown Pleasant Places into a successful business with three key divisions: maintenance, landscaping, and hardscaping. Today, the company generates $30 million in annual revenue and is targeting $100 million over the next decade.

Artigues credits their success to a commitment to clients and a culture of passion and teamwork. With 98% of their construction clients transitioning into maintenance contracts, the company’s customer loyalty is undeniable. Artigues also highlights how his sons, Gilly and Palmer, are leading the business into the future, while maintaining their family-owned values in an industry often dominated by national chains.

Despite challenges, including staff shortages and meeting fast-track deadlines, Pleasant Places continues to grow steadily, with an 18-20% growth rate. The company remains focused on delivering high-quality work while keeping its family-centered culture intact, ensuring both employees and clients feel valued.
